About the Role

The Facilities and Property Maintenance position is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of all facilities and properties within our non-profit organization. This role plays a crucial part in creating a safe and comfortable environment for our staff, volunteers, and clients.

Department: Property Management
Classification: Full time
Location: In person
Reports To: Property Manager
Compensation: Salary $49,500 - 58,000.00
Travel Requirements: 25%

Working Schedule:
Day shifts
Monday through Friday
Evening shifts
Holidays

Requirements

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as repairing plumbing systems, electrical fixtures, and HVAC systems

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues

  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for major repairs and renovations

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment inventory

  • Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and troubleshoot any issues that may arise


Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and train a team of maintenance staff

  • Assign tasks and ensure work is completed in a timely manner

  • Provide guidance and support to staff members


Required Skills/ Abilities:

  • Knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques

  • Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems

  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong problem solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Education and Experience:

  • High School/ GED

  • 3-5 years

  • Credentials for a area of expertise


Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 40+ pounds

  • Ability to stand, walk and lift for extended periods of time

  • Bending, stooping and reaching

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions


Job Hazards: 

  • Exposure to hazardous material

  • Working at heights

  • Operating heavy machinery
